There's a thread for DVDs, so why not books? :)

A couple days ago I ordered The Most of P.G. Wodehouse. Still waiting for it to arrive.

I've never read any of his writing, but I've seen Wodehouse referenced a whole lot so I'm curious. The reviews of the book on Amazon make it sound pretty hilarious.

What's your latest purchase(s)?

Robert A. Heinlein - Starship Troopers
Stephen King - Songs of Susannah

All at once I might add.

Pary of One: A Loner's Manifesto by Anneli S. Rufus

I haven't touched it yet. I'm being tormented by a couple other books I just can't seem to make it through.

Not really a purchase, more of a "Just stole it from me mother" Im about to start reading Wilbur Smiths "QUEST" from his series about ancient Egypt. I expect it to be absolutely brilliant after reading Warlock which is the book before this one (this is part 3 of the series but i forget what the first book is called, iv never read it!)

Also reading on and off, but off at the moment - "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins which is pretty good as there are a lot of things to think about in there, for and against religion. I always find this an interesting topic, once i finish this book il probably buy more.

"Who Built the Moon" Is another odd book im kind of reading, although i got side tracked with another book and have had trouble going back. This one my dad bought, which basically gives quite a logical suggestion that the earths Moon may be artificial, as the mathematics of it are far to precise to be accidental, it doesn't get a mention in any ancient astrology, and many other reasons which fill the pages convincing you the moon is a farce. When reading it i think to myself "If there was ever hard proof, these guys would get a nobel prize for being there first"

Lastly, im constantly rereading The Dark Tower Series, at the moment im reading Wolves of the Calla, but again im side tracked by Quest! I imagine i will read Quest, Finish The God Delusion, wrap up Who Built the Moon and then finish up WOTC and continue with the DT until another tangent arises.

I just got "1001 Places to See Before You Die" ... I figure if I can't get to them all, I might as well learn a little.

Been on a bit of a book buying spree last couple of weeks. I also use a book-swapping website (RISI) which is great for getting free books (though of course you have to pay postage). I'm on a bit of a science fiction tip at the moment & most of my recently acquired pile reflects this.

Mainly have started to collect the Aliens & Predator novel series & have managed to pick up some omnibus editions for free (swaps) or cheap off ebay or amazon.

Full list of recently acquired books..

Aliens v Predator Omnibus Vol 1 (Prey & Hunters Planet)
Aliens Omnibus Vol 1 ( Earth Hive & Nightmare Asylum)
Aliens Omnibus Vol 2 (The Female War & Genocide)
Aliens Omnibus Vol 3 (Alien Harvest & Rogue)
Beautiful Monsters: The Unofficial and Unauthorized Guide to the Alien and Predator Movies by David McIntree
Newton's Wake & The Cassini Division both by Ken MacLeod
Gridlinked by Neal Asher
Peace Kills by P.J. O'Rourke
Crossfire by Andy McNab

Just got to find time to read them now!

I found a book exchange shop just down the road from me recently and it's very hard not to go a bit nuts in there. Been having little book buying sprees.

Host & Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer
The Magician - Michael Scott
Communion - Whitley Strieber
The Wounded Land - Stephen Donaldson
The Memory Cathedral - Jack Dann
The Cursed - Michael Panckridge
Gulliver's Travels
Spartan - Valerio Massimo Manfredi
The Heroes of Asgard - A & E Keary

I also have been getting books in the mail for free from a site I joined.

Got The Painted Man by Peter V Brett from them and just put in a request for two others
The Gone-Away World by Nick Harkaway
Evening Is The Whole Day by Preeta Samarasan
